DESCRIPTION:Snooker’s biggest names will return to Llandudno next year when Venue Cymru stages the Cazoo Tour Championship. \nThe North Wales town played host to the kings of the baize from 2015 to 2019\, then the tournament was postponed when the Covid-19 pandemic started in 2020. WST now plans to return to Llandudno for one of the biggest events on the calendar\, from March 28 to April 3 in 2022. \nThe Cazoo Tour Championship will be the third and final event in the Cazoo Series and will feature an elite field of the top eight players on the 2021/22 one-year ranking list. Neil Robertson won the title last season\, with a 10-4 final victory over the 2019 champion Ronnie O’Sullivan. SUMMARY:Part of The Phot Film Club Series - Pride In Our Valley (TBC)
DESCRIPTION:North Wales Premier. Screening followed by a Q&A with documentary director\, Roger Tiley \nA cinematic documentary film captures a year in the life of the community in the upper Dulais Valley\, South Wales where coal mining has all but gone. The open cast mine closed in late 2021 whilst the coal washery currently remains open\, it closes imminently in early 2022\, ending a long history of coal mining in the area. \nDuring the 1984/85 miners’ strike\, lesbians and gays formed a group called Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners’. They travelled from London and visited the Dulais Valley\, generously donating money to striking miners and their families. The story is dramatized in the film ‘Pride’. The bond between LGSM and the local community remains strong to this day and regular visits are made to the upper Dulais Valley. \n>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> \nTHE PHOTO FILM CLUB \nIt was great to see so many people visiting Oriel Colwyn’s Northern Eye Photography Festival event in October.. we have missed you all and the interaction around and engagement with photography that events like these can provide. \nWith this in mind\, our Curator has been looking at ways to run more regular photography based social events to encourage meeting up safely for discussion\, engagement and enjoyment. \nWe are now happy to announce a new initiative THE PHOTO FILM CLUB which will host a photography based film or documentary roughly every 6 weeks on a Saturday afternoon in the Theatr Colwyn cinema. \nWatch a photography based film\, meet some old friends\, meet some new friends\, then go on for an informal drink\, snack or meal somewhere in the town for a bit of a social. \nWe aim to keep the tickets prices for the film screenings as low as we possible can to open up the screening to more people. If you are in a position to help out a little more\, please consider making an extra donation to Oriel Colwyn at checkout. \nTickets are priced at £5 and if you would like to join us somewhere after (place TBC) anything you choose to eat our drink is not covered by the £5 film charge\, we are nice\, but not THAT nice! \nOhh and one last thing\, it is not really a club\, we just liked the name… Its not exclusive\, you don’t have to join\, there are no joining fees and everyone is welcome!
