DESCRIPTION:Following the huge success of the inaugural Menai Food Festival which saw thousands of people visit the event last year\, returns this summer as a two day event! \nThe Menai Food Festival (organised by the same company that organises the popular Beaumaris Food Festival) is held on the recreation field and surrounding areas in Menai Bridge\, Anglesey\, North Wales. \nThe festival promises to be even better this year with even more food & drink producers\, craft stalls and street food stands! There will be fantastic live music performed on stage throughout the weekend and a mini funfair on site to keep little ones entertained! \nThere will be plenty going on throughout the day and more to be announced! \nOpen from 9.30-6pm \nThere will be a free park and ride for festival goers in festival car parks which will be clearly signposted on the day. \nWhile you’re in Menai Bridge we recommend that you visit some of the wonderful independent shops around the town.

Come and join in all the fun and see what life was really like 700 years ago. \n\nThere will be different activities on different days\, so please check what’s happening on the website or call the site for more information. \nAll weekend there will be a Knights School where children and adults can try on armour\, join in a spear drill and see how archers attacked and defended the castle. Plus crafts and living history demonstrations. There will be jester workshops and arena performances where the jester will show off his amazing skills and entertain. And also birds of prey talks and flying demonstrations\, and the chance to hold one of these magnificent birds. Children can make crafts and learn about what these birds would have eaten by dissecting an owl pellet. \nOn Good Friday and Easter Saturday\, there will be a large encampment in the inner ward\, with lots of living history and demonstrations. \nOn Easter Sunday and Monday there will be a full programme of arena demonstrations where knights will show off their archery skills\, plus fighting displays and lots more. \nThe Easter Egg trail will be on Sunday and Monday only.

DESCRIPTION:A new exhibition\, by the artist and maker Rhodri Owen who contrasts his own hand-crafted furniture with transfigured pieces in visually unexpected ways. \n“New-born” furniture pieces creatively transformed by groups across Wales explore how life experiences\, joys\, tribulations\, heritage and environment mark us all. \nGroup hands-on sessions were led by Manon Awst\, Christine Mills\, Bill Swann\, Rebecca F. Hardy\, Catrin Williams\, Pip Woolf and Kirstin Claxton. \nMarked\, coloured\, gouged or disjointed – the juxtaposition of these pieces with the simplicity of the unmarked furniture will intrigue and challenge. \nI’r Byw is touring Wales in 2018.

The opportunity to develop this residency at Fort Belan is extremely exciting.
