Ffestiniog Railway Victorian Weekend

The Ffestiniog Railway is a living museum. We have been running passenger trains since Victorian times and many of those older vehicles have been lovingly preserved, so what better way to show them off than to have a weekend dedicated to that wonderful era?
But this event isn’t just about trains, or even just the railway. Porthmadog is a Victorian town with its port built to serve the slate industry, just like the Ffestiniog, so this event stretches out into the community with decorated shops, special events in the Maritime Museum, period fairground rides and stalls….and the costumes, great!
Friday Evening – Welsh Story Telling Train
To celebrate the Year of Legends, join us on Friday October 6th for an evening of Welsh storytelling including both local and Mabinogion tales. Come along in Victorian dress and soak up the atmosphere at Tan-Y-Bwlch station. A special train will leave Porthmadog at 19.15 arriving at Tan-Y-Bwlch for ‘curtains up’ at 20.15. The return train will be arriving back in Porthmadog at 22.30.
This event is for passengers only – There will be no admission to people turning up at Tan y Bwlch by car. The cost is £5.00 for holders of Victorian weekend rover tickets, and £15.00 without.
